Mohammed V Square (Pigeon Square)

Place aux Pigeons (Pigeon Square), officially named Mohammed V Square (or Place Mohammed V), is a famous and symbolic landmark in the heart of Rabat, Morocco.

Location and Description
Location: The square is centrally located on Avenue Mohammed V (Rue Mohammed V), the main, vibrant avenue in the city center of Rabat. (Note: There is also a major Mohammed V Square in Casablanca, which is perhaps more widely known as “Pigeon Square” due to the very large number of pigeons there).

Symbolism:

The square earned its popular nickname from the large numbers of pigeons that gather there, a sight that has charmed visitors and locals for decades.
